Free agent forward and former Minnesota Timberwolves player Dante Cunningham had charges of felony domestic assault against him dropped Tuesday.

Now, Cunningham is planning to sue his accuser, with the aim of teaching a lesson to those who use the legal system frivolously. His agent told the Associated Press that his client is yet to find a home in part because teams were waiting for the legal process to play out, and that a civil suit against the accuser is forthcoming:

Dante Cunningham is innocent. He plans to bring civil charges against her not only to clear his name but to show people it's wrong to abuse an already overworked legal system.

Dante is outraged that the taxpayers of Hennepin County had to pay for countless hours of attorney and police time because somebody made a false claim for their own personal interest.

His agent did not comment on whether a signing may now be imminent with the charges dropped.
