Trail Blazers place bid for 2017 or 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend
The Portland Trail Blazers are hoping to bring the NBA's All-Star festivities to Rip City.

Portland will face opposition from the Charlotte Hornets, who submitted a bid for the 2017 or 2018 All-Star Game on Wednesday.
“The only hurdle would be, I’d say, competition amongst other teams that are bidding for this,” McGowan told CSNNW. “We’ve heard there are anywhere from six to 10 other franchises bidding. Getting the NBA open-minded to coming to Portland — they’ve been on record saying that they would be willing to look at an All-Star Weekend in Portland.”
The Trail Blazers have never hosted All-Star Weekend in the organization's 44 year existence.
