GRAPHIC: The reason why Kevin Durant pulled out of the World Cup

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant gave Team USA quite a shock when he decided to pull out of the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

Durant cited fatigue as the reason for his decision. He said in a statement that he "could not fulfill [his] responsibilities to the team from both a time and energy standpoint." USA Basketball director Jerry Colangelo echoed Durant's sentiments, saying that Durant "didn't have his zeal."

Why was Durant so tired? Probably because he's played the most minutes in the league over the past four seasons.

The two left-most bars are Durant and LeBron James, who both topped 14,000 minutes played. Incidentally, neither will be competing this summer.
