The Boston Celtics have "tried like hell" to move jumpshooting forward Brandon Bass, according to a report from Zach Lowe of Grantland.

The 29-year-old forward has spent the past three seasons in Beantown, operating mostly as a pick-and-pop threat. Bass is an excellent shooter from midrange (career 45.7 percent shooter from 16 feet out to the three-point line), but can't shoot three-pointers, which is something of a requisite for stretch forwards.

But not being able to shoot the three shouldn't mask Bass's utility. He boasts an above-average career PER and is a solid rebounder. He has one year remaining on his current deal at $6.9 million.

Bass averaged 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game last season.
