Faverani was arrested in Spain for a DUI after crashing his BMW into a bus, WEEI reports.

Analysis:

Faverani, according to police reports, blew a 0.18 BAC after the crash, which is three times over the legal limit in Spain. According to Spanish law, he will face at least a fine, community service, possibly 3-6 months of jail time, and a suspended license of at least 1-4 years. Faverani was in Spain this offseason rehabbing a knee injury that had plagued him since March when he tore his meniscus. In 37 games, he provided some help for the Celtics, scoring 4.4 points and grabbing 3.5 rebounds in 13 minutes per game. The Celtics have declined to comment thus far on what their plans are to deal with the matter, but recent incidents of DUIs in the NBA have resulted in two-game suspensions, so it's possible that Faverani could miss a couple games at the start of the season.
