Drummond is expected to make Team USA's World Cup roster, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Analysis:

Drummond would likely be deployed as a backup to Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins if named to the team. At just 21, it's somewhat surprising for Drummond to make the squad, but with the likes of Kevin Love, Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin opting to not play internationally this summer, Team USA is in dire need of big men. The team will still feature tons of elite talent, including Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and James Harden, which should only help Drummond's development.
