Grizzlies drop interim tag from GM Chris Wallace

From general manager to reassignment to interim general manager to general manager once again, Chris Wallace's wild tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies officially came full circle on Tuesday as he signed a multi-year contract extension.

Wallace assumed the role of interim general manager back in May following the firing of CEO Jason Levien. Names eventually emerged as permanent successors to Levein, but by the end of June, it was somewhat clear that any hiring by the Grizzlies would simply be an assistant general manager to Wallace.

The announcement comes hours after reports emerged that the franchise had hired Ed Stefanski as executive vice president of player personnel.
