Ginobili (leg) won't be able to participate in the FIBA World Cup this summer because the Spurs want him to spend the offseason recovering from his stress fracture, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Analysis:

Ginobili had intentions of playing for his national team Argentina this summer, but the Spurs want to err on the side of caution and have consequently not granted him permission to participate. At 37-years-old, Ginobili will likely benefit from not playing in the World Cup so he'll be fully recovered for the beginning of the 2014-15 NBA season.
