The Los Angeles Lakers introduced Ed Davis - who will need to change his Twitter handle from @eddavis32 now that he'll wear No. 21 - to the media on Wednesday.

General manager Mitch Kupchak called Davis "a young player with a very promising future," after the left-hander signed his contract. Kupchak told Davis he wore No. 21 during his time at North Carolina, which is also Davis' alma mater.

The deal is worth a reported $2 million, and includes a player option for the 2015-16 season.

The situation in Los Angeles should prove to be ideal for Davis, should he find a place (and the minutes) in the Lakers' frontcourt to be productive.

"I'm going to keep working every day," he said via Mike Trudell, noting he's gotten stronger in his four years in the NBA, and understands the game better.
