Everybody's back, baby!

The Los Angeles Lakers continued to re-sign pieces from their 27-55 roster on Friday, reportedly inking Ryan Kelly to a two-year contract.

The No. 48 pick in the 2013 draft, the Duke product was a pleasant surprise this season for the Lakers, averaging eight points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 22.2 minutes. That was in an up-tempo scheme where minutes were plenty, the former of which may not be true this season and the latter of which definitely won't.

Still, finding value at the margins and using second-round picks well is a valuable ability for a franchise, and signing Kelly to a reasonable deal for additional frontcourt depth can't hurt. The Lakers now have a glut of power forwards and nobody to reliably play center, but hey, who needs positions, right?

The terms of the deal are not yet available, but something close to the league minimum seems a safe bet if both years are guaranteed.
