Assuming he's unable to return to All-Star form, Deron Williams holds arguably one of the most unmovable contracts in the NBA.

Three years remain on Williams' current deal with the Brooklyn Nets, with his salary set at $19,754,465 for the upcoming season and increasing to $22,331,135 by 2016-17. For a player who appears to be on the decline, has struggled with ankle injuries throughout his career, and recently turned 30, it's a contract unlikely to return a profit.

The Nets, who will enter the 2014-15 season paying the luxury tax once again, are clearly aware of the situation, and it shouldn't come as much surprise that they're reportedly willing to part ways with Williams.

The 2013-14 season saw Williams average 14.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 2.6 rebounds, the lowest numbers of his career since his rookie campaign in 2005-06. He did, however, manage above-average marks in true shooting percentage (56.4 percent) and a player efficiency rating (17.6).
