Dwyane Wade: Coming Back To Miami

Wade has agreed to a two-year, $34 million deal with the Heat, ESPN reports. The contract includes a player option for the 2015-16 season.

Analysis:

As expected, Wade returns to Miami on a new deal, though it's shorter than most expected. Wade will make $17 million next season but has the option to opt out - likely to restructure the deal, rather than leave Miami - after next season. While Wade, who has regressed significantly over the past two seasons, is being paid well above his true value, he's still the face of the Heat franchise and will look to rebound after a particularly disappointing Finals series. Wade will open the season as Miami's starting shooting guard, but it remains to be seen how often he'll sit out to rest his ailing knees. Last season, Wade was essentially a game-time call every night, and that's likely to be the case in 2014-15 as well.
