New Clipper Spencer Hawes challenges Blake Griffin to arm wrestle for jersey number

It didn't take long for Spencer Hawes to start making trouble as the newest member of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Hawes, who signed a reported four-year, $23 million contract with the Clippers on July 4, took to Twitter over the weekend, raising an issue with Blake Griffin. The matter at hand? Jersey numbers.

Griffin didn't bite on the offer for an arm wrestle, though our money would be on the former dunk champion, who is six pounds heavier than Hawes despite being three inches shorter.

Griffin has worn No. 32 for his entire NBA career, while Hawes wore it only for the final 27 games of 2013-14 with Cleveland. Previously, Hawes wore Nos. 31 and 00, both of which should be available.
