After toiling for miserable teams in Charlotte for several years while facing questions about his weight and his commitment, Boris Diaw seemed to find a perfect home in San Antonio.

There he found a diverse, multinational roster, a close friend and fellow countryman in Tony Parker, a coach in Gregg Popovich with a knack for recognizing and maximizing hidden talent, and an offensive system designed to highlight's Diaw's unique set of skills - a combination of size, shooting touch, nimble footwork, and deft passing.

It was a perfect marriage, for both player and team, and Diaw was a crucial part of the Spurs march to an NBA championship, their first in seven years, last season. So it should come as no surprise that both sides reportedly agreed on Sunday to extend the union for another three years.

"Hey spurs fans, Good news i stay in san antonio for a few more years," wrote Diaw, via Instagram. "Lets win it again."

The 32-year-old is guaranteed $15.5 million over the first two years of the deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. He also reports that the Spurs are expected to continue their pursuit of free agent Pau Gasol by offering their midlevel exception.

Diaw averaged 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 79 games with the Spurs last season, and posted his best PER in five years. He also averaged nearly six assists per game in the Spurs' five-game dismantling of the Miami Heat in the finals.
