The Indiana Pacers came up short in the playoffs last year after a wildly successful regular season, thanks in no small part to a lack of quality play from their point guards. According to reports, they are spending the early days of free agency attempting to grab a star guard from somewhere else around the league.

Both Rajon Rondo and Goran Dragic would be top-level additions to a Pacers roster that went 56-26 last season. However, neither player would come cheaply.

Dragic had a breakout campaign with the Suns last season, solidifying himself as the premier player on the team while averaging 20.3 points and 5.9 assists while playing a career high 35 minutes per game.

The much more far-fetched speculation on Rondo would likely also be pricey. The All-Star point guard has been linked to a number of teams across the league over the last two seasons.

The Pacers are also in the midst of discussions with their own free agent Lance Stephenson, but could dangle disappointing center Roy Hibbert if a total roster shakeup is their goal.
