Evan Fournier hopes to assume more of a creating role with the Magic next season.

Fournier will handle the ball more and be asked to intiate the offense at times with the Magic next season.

Analysis:

Recently acquired from the Nuggets, Fournier indicated he'll have a chance to handle the ball more frequently with his new team. Last season, Fournier averaged 8.4 points and 1.5 assists in 76 games for Denver, and he's in position to see a bump in playing time with the youth-laden Magic. Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo figure to start in the backcourt with Fournier serving as one of the primary offensive weapons off the bench. If he does, indeed, handle the ball more often, it's fair to expect his assist - and perhaps turnover - numbers to increase. In four games as a starter last season, he averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.8 steals, 1.8 three-pointers, and 3.8 turnovers in 35 minutes per game.
