Felton was traded from the Knicks to the Mavericks on Wednesday, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Analysis:

Felton was joined by Tyson Chandler, who were sent to Dallas in exchange for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, Shane Larkin, Wayne Ellington and a second-round draft pick. The beleaguered Felton recently agreed to a plea deal in order to avoid jail time from his criminal weapons charges, but the NBA could levy further punishment upon the point guard. Upon his arrival in Dallas, the organization may pursue a buyout before free agency commences in an effort to free up cap space and pursue one of the offseason's top free agents. At the moment, though, he would contend with Devin Harris for reps at the point.
