Report: Tyson Chandler deal motivated by Mavs' interest in Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly hoping their re-acquisition of center Tyson Chandler will be enough to lure a big-name player like Carmelo Anthony or LeBron James in free agency.

The Mavs finalized a deal with the New York Knicks for Chandler and Raymond Felton on Wednesday, with point guards Shane Larkin and Jose Calderon, center Samuel Dalembert, reserve guard Wayne Ellington, and a pair of second-round picks going the other way.

The Mavs are believed to be among the teams that Anthony has scheduled visits with, and Tony Williams of Metro New York reports that the star forward has placed a high priority on Dallas.

James already opted out of his contract with the Miami Heat and is reportedly on the radar of the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Atlanta Hawks.
