Nick Young: Re-signing With Lakers An Option

Young, who officially opted out of his contract Tuesday, could still return to the Lakers next season, the Orange County Register reports. "I think the intentions are good on both sides," Young's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said.

Analysis:

Despite missing the playoffs, Young certainly seemed to enjoy his time under the bright lights of Los Angeles, often making headlines for his on-court antics. He was actually quite productive, particularly after the All-Star break, when he averaged 20.8 points and 3.4 three-pointers per game in just 27.0 minutes. Whether or not the self-dubbed "Swaggy P" returns next season will hinge heavily on what the Lakers are able to do in free agency this offseason. If the team has cap room available later in the summer, they could look to bring Young back as a sparkplug off the bench.
