Parker will not play for France in the FIBA World Cup this summer, Reuters reports.

Analysis:

Parker just finished his 13th season in the NBA and decided it would be wise to get some rest and not participate in the FIBA World Cup. He also dealt with both ankle and hamstring injuries during the Spurs' run to the NBA Finals this season, so that may have also helped influence him against playing this summer. Although Parker is not planning on playing in the FIBA games, he still should be able to come out next year re-energized, as the Spurs were able to keep his minutes below 30 per game during the regular season. The Spurs will have nearly the same team next year, so look for Parker, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Kawhi Leonard to be back in full force again.
