Celtics' Brad Stevens on Rondo: 'Physically, he looks fantastic'

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo never really had a chance to get things going last season as he battled back from a torn ACL, but head coach Brad Stevens has been raving about his attitude and effort at the team's practice facility in recent weeks.

“He’s been great,” Stevens told the Boston Globe on Wednesday during the team's draft workouts. ““Physically, he looks fantastic. That really sets a tone having him come in. That really is helpful.”

Rondo appeared in just 30 games in 2013-14, seeing his minutes managed as well as sitting on back-to-backs.

“He only played 30 or so games this year,” Stevens said. “I don’t [think] he ever felt like he was good as he could be game-to-game and that was in large part due to coming back (from the injury).”

A four-time All-Star, Rondo is set to earn $13 million next season, the final year of his five-year extension.
