Garnett's production took a significant dip this season, as he took on a reduced role with the Nets.

Analysis:

Garnett was traded to Brooklyn from Boston last June, teaming with Paul Pierce, Deron Williams and Brook Lopez to form one of the top veteran cores in the Eastern Conference. While the Nets reached the second round of the playoffs, Garnett's individual performance was rather disappointing, as he appeared in only 54 games and averaged career-low numbers across the board. Indeed, part of the reason for the decline was a reduced role -– he played only 20.5 minutes per game, by far a career-low –- but the 38-year-old often looked like a shell of his former self, no longer able to consistently knock down his trademark mid-range jumper and defend at an elite level. While Garnett's rebounding numbers remained fairly steady, he finished the season with career-low averages of 6.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Retirement will certainly be a consideration this offseason, though he has one year and $12 million left on his current deal, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he returned for what would almost certainly be his final NBA season.
