Gibson (ankle) confirmed rumors that he'll start at power forward for the Bulls in the 2014-15 season, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Analysis:

Gibson confirmed in a phone interview that he was told he would move into the starting lineup next season in place of Carlos Boozer. In the six games he started in the 2013-14 season, Gibson averaged 20.6 points and 9.7 rebounds with the Bulls winning five of those games. While there's no official word on what will happen with Boozer, it's possible that the Bulls could amnesty him and leave him as a free agent, while opening up plenty of minutes for Gibson. Gibson is currently rehabbing a badly sprained left ankle that happened in Game 5 of the Bulls' first-round playoff series with the Wizards but will resume basketball-related activities next week and should be healthy by the time training camps begin.
