Claver won't play for the Blazers in the Las Vegas Summer League, instead opting to rest before joining the Spanish National Team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, The Oregonian reports.

Analysis:

Claver's role was cut in half from his workload as a rookie, ending the season with averages of 2.2 points (on 40.5 percent shooting) and 1.9 boards in 8.8 minutes across 21 tilts. In his exit interview, he stated a desire to earn expanded playing time, even if a trade is required to meet that end. Considering the lack of established talent on the Blazers' bench, his inability to crack the rotation for much more than a quarter of the slate is worrisome for his future in Portland, especially with Joel Freeland, Thomas Robinson, and Dorell Wright all in the fold.
