Heat remove Battier, add Haslem to starting lineup for Game 2

Marc Lebryk / USA Today Sports

Looking to rebound from a disappointing Game 1 performance that saw them get hammered on the glass and the interior, the Miami Heat will roll out a larger starting lineup for Game 2 on Tuesday.

Forward Shane Battier will head to the bench with center Udonis Haslem entering the starting lineup, sliding Chris Bosh over to the four spot.

In the series opener, the Heat were actually a +2 in 16 minutes with Battier on the floor and a -8 in 11 minutes with Haslem out there. Still, strategically, Haslem makes more sense in terms of containing Roy Hibbert and helping to make up the rebounding gap.

The starting lineup with Haslem in place of Battier has played 50 minutes over five games so far in the playoffs, getting pasted by 26.5 points per 100 possessions. The Heat better hope that was match-up specific or a small sample anomaly.
