Detroit Pistons head coach and president of operations Stan Van Gundy holds final say on all basketball decisions in Detroit. He is currently leading the search for a new general manager.
In light of this new development, this would strike both Billups off the list. Those rumored for the job, who also fit the criteria include former Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo, Cavaliers GM David Griffin, and former Magic GM Otis Thorpe.
