Williams will undergo an MRI on his ankles Friday and it's possible he'll need surgery this offseason, The Record reports.

Analysis:

Williams' ankle issues have been well-chronicled over the past few seasons, and he once again missed time in 2013-14 due to swelling and discomfort. While he played big minutes during Brooklyn's 12-game playoff run, his ankles were less than 100 percent, and it would not be surprising if he underwent surgery over the summer. The soon-to-be-30-year-old endured a disappointing statistical season, averaging 14.3 points and 6.1 assists - both the lowest since his rookie season in 2005-06.
