Wizards' Nene briefly left Game 2 with ankle injury, returned shortly after

Late in the first quarter of Wednesday's Game 2 showdown between Washington and Indiana, the Wizards' chances at continuing the upset may have taken a hit.

Power forward Nene landed awkwardly on George Hill's foot and had to be taken to the locker room. While it initially looked like a possible left knee injury, the team later revealed he had hurt his ankle. Head coach Randy Wittman declined to provide an update between quarters, but Nene checked in later in the second quarter, reportedly having had a sprained left ankle taped.

In eight minutes before getting hurt, Nene had scored four points with two rebounds and a block. He scored 15 points with six rebounds in Washington's Game 1 win and is averaging 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and three assists so far in the playoffs.

Should the Brazilian be limited moving forward, the Wizards would likely play smaller to try and give the Pacers the same fits that a space-based Atlanta Hawks lineup did in round one.
