Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett among several Nets sitting out season finale

Following some rumblings that the Brooklyn Nets are interested in dropping to sixth in the Eastern Conference, the franchise will in fact be resting all five of their starters for their season finale against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Deron Williams, Shaun Livingston, Joe Johnson, and Mirza Teletovic had been listed as scratches earlier on Wednesday, but Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett weren't ruled out for the contest until later in the evening.

By dropping from fifth to sixth in the East, the Nets would meet the Miami Heat in the second round, while also potentially avoiding a first-round meeting against the Chicago Bulls, who eliminated Brooklyn in last year's playoffs and are playing some phenomenal basketball as of late.

With so many key players sitting out, here's the Nets' starting lineup for Wednesday's game. It features a player who was in the D-League just over a month ago, a player who is finishing off arguably his worst NBA season, a player who is often associated with the league's worst point guards, and a player who couldn't find a team at the beginning of the season.
