Tyreke Evans helps Pelicans surprise Thunder with career-high 41 points

Derick E. Hingle / USA Today

The New Orleans Pelicans entered Monday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with only 10 players dressed.

For Tyreke Evans, that simply meant more time with the ball. And he made the most of it.

Evans shot 14-for-26 from the field en route to a career-high 41 points as the Pelicans shocked the Thunder with a 101-89 victory.

No other New Orleans player had more than 12 points. Kevin Durant led New Orleans with 25, but shot just 9-for-23.

Evans entered Monday averaging 13.9 points this season.
