VIDEO: Faried, Mozgov negate Curry's would-be game-winner

It looked as if Stephen Curry had done it again.

With 14.4 seconds left and his Golden State Warriors down 98-97 to the Denver Nuggets, Curry had a defensive rebound tipped his way. He ran the length of the floor down the left sideline, tried his patented step-back move and then opted to use a high ball-screen to cut to the middle of the court instead.

A quick crossover move later, Curry released a floater just high enough to miss the outstretched arm of Kenneth Faried, giving the Warriors a 99-98 lead with just 4.7 seconds to play.

But then Faried interjected, posting up from the high left elbow and hitting a sloppy and unlikely turnaround for the game-winning basket. 100-99 Nuggets. Fin.

Of course, those dramatics wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the efforts of Timofey Mozgov, who unexpectedly grabbed 29 rebounds on the night to go along with 23 points. It marked just the 21st time since 1985-86 that a player has grabbed 29 rebounds in a game and just the 10th such instance where a player also scored 20 points.

Considering Mozgov averages just 9.3 points and 6.4 rebounds and his previous career high was 20 boards - the only other time he's ever grabbed more than 15 - it was pretty unlikely. In fact, of all players to grab 29 rebounds in a game since 1985-86, Mozgov entered the game with by far the lowest rebounding average.

Moz Def in full effect.
