Eric Gordon: (Knee) Out for the Season

Gordon (knee) will have arthroscopic surgery performed on his left knee next week, which will bring his season to a close.

Analysis:

In what was his healthiest season since his rookie campaign in 2008-09, Gordon played in 64 of the Pelicans' first 68 contests, getting the nod at two-guard in each one. His output was modest -- 15.4 points (on 43.6 percent shooting), 3.3 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 treys, and 1.2 steals in 32.1 minutes per game -- but tendinitis in his left knee befell him on Mar. 21, marking his final appearance of the season. Barring any setbacks with his upcoming recovery, expect him to enter 2013-14 with full health, with the caveat that unfortunate injury luck eventually catches up with him.
