According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Dante Cunningham will be held in jail under $150,000 bond pending probable cause charges of terrorist threats.

Cunningham's defense team reportedly requested his release, but a Medina, MN, judge decided that his release was not in the interest of public safety. Had he been released, the NBA's collective bargaining agreement would require the team and league to allow him to return to work while the legal process plays out.

The 26-year-old was arrested on Sunday for allegedly sending threatening text messages to his live-in girlfriend that "rose to a terroristic level." Cunningham's defense believes technological evidence will refute the charges.

The arrest marked the second within a week for Cunningham, as he was arrested Thursday and charged with felony domestic assault, only to later be released on $40,000 bail.
