Phil Jackson had a sit-down with Lamar Odom during Wednesday's Knicks-Nets game

Phil Jackson is doing a lot of homework on his former players now that he's back in the NBA. After meeting with Metta World Peace last week, the Zen Master had a sit-down with former Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom on Wednesday during the Knicks game against the Nets.

Odom was the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year, Jackson's last year coaching, and the troubled forward has a pair of championship rings from his time with the Lakers. He also happens to share an agent with Tyson Chandler, the Knicks' center.

After a season with Dallas and another with the Clippers, Odom finds himself out of the league, primarily due to off-court issues. Three years is a long time between successes, but he was a productive player in the triangle offense that Jackson is so well-known for.

Jackson is admittedly on what he's called "a talent hunt," and is clearly doing due diligence with players familiar with his system.
