With the Boston Celtics currently in the midst of a heavy rebuilding process that has a number of players on expiring contracts, it's hard to say what the franchise's roster will look like in a year or two.

One player whose future is clouded by uncertainty is Kris Humphries.

Although he's expressed his desire to remain in Boston for the foreseeable future, Humphries' contract (he's making $12 million this year) is set to expire at the end of the season. Given the circumstances, it shouldn't come as any surprise that the Minnesota product has spoken to Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge about his impending free agency.

"I have had a few conversations with Kris," said Ainge on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich show. "Because he's been with us all year, he was with us in the summer and all this year. Kris sort of knows where we are as an organization and he knows we like him. And he knows there is a lot of uncertainty, depending on which direction we choose to go this summer. None of us know.

"But he knows we like him, his coaches and teammates like him, we just can't make any promises yet."

Humphries is averaging 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game this season, while posting a career-best Player Efficiency Rating of 18.4 to compliment a career-best True Shooting Percentage of 55.5.
