The Indiana Pacers have seen better days. By the second quarter Monday, the boos from a sold-out crowd started raining down onto the floor at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

San Antonio continued to rout the home team to a 103-77 win - its 18th consecutive victory, and a franchise record.

The Western Conference's best keep getting better, but the Spurs still felt a pang of sadness for their Eastern Conference counterparts, reports Jeff McDonald of the Express-News.

“My heart was kind of breaking for them,” said Spurs forward Jeff Ayres, who played the previous two seasons with Indiana. “I kind of felt for them. It sucks to hear that.”

Indiana came within seven, but instead dropped its fifth contest in the team's last six. The Pacers haven't reached 80 points in five of those six games, either.

“We've bottomed out as a group,” said Indiana forward David West. “We have to regroup and answer some questions about ourselves and our identity.”
