Wesley Johnson hopes to re-sign with Lakers

Wesley Johnson would like to return to the Los Angeles Lakers next season, and he hopes the team feels the same way. 

"Hopefully it's a long-term thing," Johnson told Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News. "But we'll have to see what happens with what the front office decides and how they move around things. I would like to be here."

The 6-foot-7, 215-pound Johnson joined the Lakers in July 2013 on a one-year deal. He's thrived at the power forward position, averaging 12.4 points on 56.5 percent shooting, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks in his last five games. 

"It's been interesting playing a lot of different positions," Johnson said. "This is me growing as a player and learning a lot more. I'm taking what they're throwing at me. It's been a good situation."
