Report: Knicks pursuing Earl Clark, Dahntay Jones

The Philadelphia 76ers waived Earl Clark on Friday as the team continued its fire sale on all available players, but the forward is already on the radar of another Eastern Conference basement dweller.

According to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the New York Knicks are trying to sign two "defensive-minded players" before meeting the Heat on Thursday in Miami, and Clark fits the bill.

The Knicks agreed to buyouts with Metta World Peace and Beno Udrih on Monday, freeing up two roster spots.

Clark averaged 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds for the Cavaliers this season before he was traded to the Sixers.

The Knicks are also reportedly working out veteran free agent Dahntay Jones. The 33-year-old split last season between Dallas and Atlanta but failed to catch on with a team for 2013-14. In 589 career games over 10 seasons, Jones has averaged 5.6 points and 1.8 rebounds.
