Wizards' Harrington declares himself ready after missing three months

It's been a long and frustrating wait to get back in the lineup but on Saturday, Al Harrington will put 101 days of soreness, surgery and rehab on his knee behind him as he's declared himself ready to play against New Orleans.

“I’m ready to play,” Harrington told The Washington Post's Micheal Lee. “Whenever coach puts me out there.”

The 34-year-old, who signed with the Wizards in August, hasn't played since developing knee soreness Nov. 12. He had surgery to remove loose particles from his right knee and has been rehabbing since.

Harrington admitted that his offense isn't where it should be, after appearing in only seven games this season, but still believes his game is where it needs to be to step on the floor.

“I know I could. I can compete with those guys,” Harrington said. “My shot is not as sharp as I would like it to be, but everything else I think I can do out there. It’s just a matter of time with me getting in shape and getting back out there.”

Head coach Randy Wittman wasn't tipping his hand when asked by Lee if Harrington would play Saturday night.

“We’ll see.”
