Report: Cavs acquire Hawes for Clark, Sims and two second-round picks

It appears we now have all of the details in the Spencer Hawes trade.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are sending Earl Clark, Henry Sims, their own 2014 second-round pick and Memphis' 2014 second-round-pick (Cleveland also own Orlando's 2014 second-rounder) to the Philadelphia 76ers for center Spencer Hawes.

Clark earns $4.25 million this season but his 2014-15 salary is completely unguaranteed. Sims makes $788,872 this season and is also fully unguaranteed for 2014-15. In short, the Sixers are only taking back de facto expiring contracts, unwilling to add future salary to acquire the pair of second-round picks.

Clark was once thought to have serious potential as a floor-spacer and defensive specialist but that didn't pan out with the Cavaliers. In 45 games this season, Clark was averaging 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 15.5 minutes, receiving fairly inconsistent playing time and failing to lock down a rotation spot.

In 20 games this season, Sims was averaging 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 8.4 minutes for Cleveland. He had perhaps his best game as a professional on Tuesday, when he scored seven points with eight rebounds in 20 minutes.

Hawes is on the books for $6.6 million this season but is an unrestricted free agent this summer. In 53 games with Philly this season, the Washington product was averaging 13 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 blocks. He'll add a nice element of floor-spacing to a Cavaliers frontcourt that lacks such a big man with that skill.

Update: The Cavaliers have confirmed the trade as written above.
