Jared Jeffries has his own fishing show on the Outdoor Channel

Yes, seriously.

The well-traveled, 11-year NBA veteran - who most recently played 38 games with the Portland Trail Blazers last season - didn't garner much interest on the free agent market this summer, so he turned his back on the hardwood and took his talents to the water.

Following through on a lifelong dream, Jeffries is now hosting a new show on the Outdoor Channel called "Modern Fishing."

Jared intends to share angling tips, tricks, and techniques in a fun and informative way. After watching an episode of Modern Fishing, you should be able to walk away with a bit more knowledge under your belt. With trips planned to exotic fishing destinations, and a number of elusive species on his bucket list, Jared’s passion is to share Modern Fishing with the world. This is the same Jared Jeffries that once went on an alligator hunting trip with fellow outdoorsman Brad Miller, so this shouldn't come as too much of a surprise.
