Nate Robinson: Out for Season Due to Torn ACL

Robinson underwent surgery on his torn left ACL on Friday and will miss the remainder of the season, the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Robinson sustained what was initially termed a sprained ACL on Thursday, which is essentially a partial tear of the ligament. Because Ty Lawson is dealing with a strained rotator cuff, Randy Foye and Evan Fournier will assume most of the guard minutes in the short term, but upon Lawson's eventual return, Fournier should take over Robinson's bench role for the remainder of the season. As for Robinson's plight, the injury puts his status entering the 2014-15 campaign in serious jeopardy, but the two-year deal that he signed last summer ensures he'll remain a Nugget, whenever he's able to play again.
