Jefferson missed Thursday's practice with a sore back and will be a game-time decision for Friday's game against the Lakers.

Analysis:

After averaging just 10 minutes per game in 2012-13, Jefferson has etched out a starting role for the rebuilding Jazz this season, chipping in 10 points per game to go along with 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists. The veteran's potential absence Friday could allow both Trey Burke and Alec Burks to start at the two guard spots while Gordon Hayward slides over to small forward to cover for Jefferson.
