Grizzlies announce signing of F James Johnson from D-League

The Memphis Grizzlies announced the signing of forward James Johnson from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the Development League on Monday.

Johnson has appeared in 219 NBA games over four seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and Sacramento Kings. 

In 2011-12 with Toronto, he averaged career highs of 9.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.15 steals and 1.35 blocks in his 25.2 minutes.

Per the team release, he was one of just seven qualifying NBA players that season to average at least one steal and one block per game, joining Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade, Josh Smith, DeMarcus Cousins and Kenyon Martin.
