Marreese Speights: Starts for Injured Lee

Speights started at power forward in place of David Lee (mouth) in Golden State's preseason finale Thursday. He scored eight points (4-of-11 FG) with five rebounds and two steals in 18 minutes in a loss to Portland.

Lee had some dental work performed Thursday and was given the night off, prompting head coach Mark Jackson to use Speights in the starting lineup. Once Lee is healthy enough to play -- he's expected to practice this weekend and play in the regular-season opener -- Speights will move back to the bench. The key for the Warriors is if Speights can provide a scoring threat off the bench.
