Barton has fared well all-around during five previous preseason tilts, averaging 9.6 points (on 56.3 percent shooting), 4.6 boards, 1.2 assists, one steal, and 0.8 blocks in just over 26 minutes. With first-round pick CJ McCollum (foot) out indefinitely, Barton's year of experience in coach Terry Stotts' system figures to garner him some run at shooting guard in 2013-14, but his minutes load in the preseason finale Thursday in Golden State may in fact forecast his role heading into the regular season.
