Sixers C Lavoy Allen slept through practice

Rookies sleeping through practice is probably not a good sign of things to come, even if the 76ers season isn't projected to be all that great when it finally starts.

Philadelphia center Lavoy Allen was missing from Saturday's practice. New head coach Brett Brown heard Allen overslept.

"It's all a part of the culture, the culture we're trying to get right," Brown told reporters (via the Inquirer). "We will deal with him, I will deal with him. What else can you say?"

Khalif Wyatt, another Sixers rookie, thought Allen was sick. From the Inquirer:

On Friday, Twitter posts reported that Allen was at Temple basketball's Cherry and White night at The Liacouras Center. Wyatt, a former Owls guard, was also at The Liacouras Center

A picture posted later on Instagram spotted Allen, a former Temple center, at Club Aura in Northern Liberties. The event, billed as a kickoff to Temple's homecoming weekend, was supposed to be hosted by Wyatt and model Yaris Sanchez. Sanchez was in the picture with Allen and rapper Pooda Dappa. Wyatt said he did not go and was not with Allen on Friday.

Though Allen isn't a franchise face yet, he might be the face of the Sixers franchise. It's all so vaguely familiar: If he can't practice, he can't practice. It's as simple as that. We're sitting here and he's supposed to be the (2013 Sixers) franchise player and we're talking about practice. How silly is that?
