Pondexter didn't see any playing time in Monday's preseason opener against the Bulls.

Pondexter played a major role for the Grizzlies in the playoffs, but failed to get into the game on Monday. Head coach Dave Joerger likely just wants to get Pondexter some rest after a long camp. This also gave Joerger an opportunity to get a good look at other small forwards such as Mike Miller (22 minutes) and Tony Gaffney (20 minutes) while the team plays exhibition matchups.
