Wizards' John Wall: 'The goal is the playoffs'

Washington Wizards John Wall has a dream: to play in the postseason. "The goal is the playoffs," Wall told ESPN. "We've got the pieces."

Wall called the addition of power forward Al Harrington "huge," but acknowledged that the only thing that can hold the Wizards back is the team's health.

On that note, the Wizards are already off to a tough start, having lost Emeka Okafor and Chris Singleton to injuries before training camp has even begun.

Wall's own health limited him to 49 games last season. He started 42 of them, and averaged a career-high 18.5 points, 7.6 assists, and four rebounds.

Wall's knee is 100 percent, he's added muscle to his frame, and he understands the expectations that come with having signed a five-year, $80-million contract extension in July.

"I love the pressure," Wall said. "I feel like I'm a top five point guard in the league, but I've got to go out there and prove it."

Wall worked on his perimeter shooting over the summer, and is feeling confident heading into camp.

"I can miss seven or eight shots now, and I don't get discouraged."
