France with EuroBasket 2013 with 80-66 win over Lithuania

France are European basketball champions for the first time in their history. The French beat Lithuania 80-66 on Sunday to claim their title.

Led by NBA veterans Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, and Nicolas Batum, France rode an 18-3 second-quarter run to victory. Batum led the team in scoring with 17 points.

Linas Kleiza was Lithuania's best player on Sunday, scoring 20 points in defeat. Jonas Valanciunas played only 11 minutes.

Tony Parker finished with 12 points on 4/14 shooting. But, more importantly, he got the title he's always wanted, having played for years on the French national team with little to show for it. Parker was also named the tournament's MVP. Félicitations, Tony!

All four of the teams above will play in next year's World Cup in Spain, although Parker may sit the tournament out, reports Pro Basketball Talk, to focus on 2015 Olympic qualifying and the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
